My First Visit

At your first visit, you first fill out some brief paperwork that describes your health history and health goals. You will then meet with Dr. Simon to discuss whether chiropractic is right for you. This initial consultation is free and we offer it so that we can get to know one another and to evaluate whether or not you are a good candidate for chiropractic care.

If Dr. Simon finds that you can benefit from chiropractic care, then you will be examined. The examination procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the Vertebral Subluxation (Click on this link for more information on subluxations).

Our Examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes “Palpation” Palpation is an examination of the spine by hand; this procedure includes checking spinal position and motion, curvatures, and muscle tone and imbalances.

Spinal X-Rays may be taken depending on your age, health history and examination findings. Patients who have had X-Rays or MRI studies within the previous year should provide those films at their first visit. The X-Rays can confirm the presence of subluxations, the stage of spinal degeneration, or may be used to rule out underlying pathology.

At the end of your first visit, we will schedule you for a return visit to review your X-Rays and Dr. Simon’s Report of Findings.
